As of today, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has officially suspended the choice‑filling and locking process for Round 1 of NEET UG 2025 counselling. The portal displays a clear notice:

“The Choice‑Filling & Choice Locking for Round‑1 has been put on hold. The revised schedule will be announced shortly.” 

Neither candidates can modify nor lock their saved preferences until MCC publishes new timelines.

Why the Hold Was Issued

Throughout late July and early August, MCC had repeatedly extended deadlines—responding to PwBD candidates lacking certificates and to institutions finalizing seat data submissions. These repeated updates created confusion in the seat matrix, including missing seats and duplicates. To maintain clarity and process integrity, MCC paused operations midstream to complete system updates and vet final data.

Original vs Updated Round 1 Timeline

Here’s how the revised Round 1 schedule had unfolded before this current hold:

• Registration & Fee Payment: July 21 – August 3, 2025 (Registration till 1 PM, fee till 4 PM)
  
  

• Choice Filling: July 22 – August 3 (until 11:59 PM server time)
  
  

• Choice Locking Window: August 3, from 6:00 PM to 11:55 PM
  
  

• Seat Allotment Processing: August 4 – 5, 2025
  
  

• Result Declaration: August 6, 2025
  
  

• Institution Reporting: August 7–11, 2025 

These dates were in effect until MCC announced the interruption on August 5.

What Candidates Should Do Now
